About three decades ago, Ramchand Mohinani, the founder and the present Chairman of the Poly Group conceived an idea. The idea started taking concrete shape with the setting up of the group’s first two plants – Poly Products (Ghana) Limited and Poly Sacks (Ghana) Limited. These plants produced polythene films and woven sacks.

The business acumen an enterprise of Ramchand Mohinani and the support of his colleagues turned these ventures into a huge success. And soon, the Group’s strength increased to three factories and several warehouses spread over the Northern Industrial Area of Accra in Ghana. The plants have diligently catered to the plastics and packaging needs of the host country, Ghana by producing around 8000 MT of polyethylene, polypropylene and PVC annually.

With Ramchand Mohinani’s vision and under his able leadership, the activities of the Group companies have continued to surge ahead over the last three decades. Today, the Group has seven manufacturing facilities in Ghana and business establishments in seven countries of Africa, Asia and Europe. The diverse activities of these establishments provide gainful employment to over a thousand people.

The manufacturing, trading and export activities of the Group have been so successful that several of its companies figure among the top 100 companies of Ghana. The Group as a whole would find a place among the top 20 of these hundred.
